Construction Manager

The Construction Manager plugin allows you to control the construction process. Access to the IFC model-related database allows for updates on construction status and element information to be performed by many different users.

Buy the Construction Manager plugin in the BIMvision store

The plugin introduces 4 buttons to BIMvision, responsible for different processes:

  • Group Manager – creating groups of elements
  • Template Manager – creating templates for the processes being carried out
  • Status Manager – assigning templates to groups of elements and monitoring the progress of work
  • Revision import – importing a .cmf file containing the above types of Managers

First, use the Group Manager to create groups from IFC model elements.

The next step is to create templates for the processes being implemented in the Template Manager. Individual colors are assigned to different statuses.

A sample color gradient is illustrated below:

Having at least one element group and one template created, you can go to the Status Manager window showing the construction status. After selecting the element group and template, the following window will appear:

On the left side you will find the elements contained in the element group. The top bar of the table is the statuses defined in the Template Manager.

Each status contains 4 fields:

  • date
  • user
  • contractor
  • subcontractor.

After entering the date, the elements in the window will get the color associated with the color assigned to the status.

After pressing the button responsible for applying status colors to the model, we will get a picture of the current construction status in the Status Manager.

The content data of the Status Manager can be exported to a .csv file.

Below is an example view in the Status Manager:

The Revision Import option allows access to information from all Managers saved as a .cmf file.

In the case of team work on an IFC model using the plugin, the first user receives the Admin Status (can complete and change data in groups and templates). Subsequent users who receive the User Status can complete data in the Status Manager, but cannot edit data in the Group Manager and Template Manager.
