The newly released version of BIMvision 3.2.0 marks another step forward in the development of this tool, whose functionality is being consistently expanded. It introduces improvements that facilitate working with BIM models, particularly in terms of transformation, visualization and the display of element properties.
One of the key new features is the local coordinate system, available in the TRANSFORMATIONS tab. This function allows for more flexible handling of the model’s orientation and its transformations, which can be particularly useful when working on projects requiring adjustments to the reference system.
Users also gain the ability to disable the sorting of properties by name. This allows the way properties are displayed to be better tailored to individual preferences and the nature of the model being analysed.
The update also includes changes relating to the visualization of Axis representation lines. The program now uses colours defined in IfcCurveStyle.CurveColour, allowing the presentation of axes to better reflect the information stored in the IFC model.
Version 3.2.0 also includes a fix for the renderer’s `collect_id()` function, which addresses the case where model clipping by cutting planes is disabled. This change improves the program’s behaviour in specific scenarios involving model clipping.
Another new feature is an X, Y and Z axes gizmo, which visualizes the rotation of the model’s axes. This allows the user to control the model’s orientation more easily and to quickly understand its current spatial position.
Version 3.2.0 focuses on practical features that give users greater control over how BIM models are displayed and transformed. The combination of a local coordinate system, axis orientation visualization, greater flexibility in displaying properties, and improvements to the renderer makes working with IFC models more flexible and transparent.
