IgentBIM

IgentBIM is a modern plugin for BIMvision, designed for structural engineers, architects and prefabrication designers. It enables quick and intuitive creation of three-dimensional structural models using an advanced parametric approach – without the need for coding. Based on proven assumptions and technologies known from the IgentForm tool, IgentBIM transfers the conceptual design process directly to the BIMvision environment, opening up new possibilities for automation and iteration in structural modelling.

The plugin enables the creation of models based on solids that can be flexibly modified using parameters such as height, geometry, number of storeys, roof type, and the location of structural elements. Each change is immediately reflected in the 3D model, which significantly reduces design time and allows for experimentation with various structural solutions at an early stage of the investment.

Key features of IgentBIM – what makes our plugin stand out?

Dynamic parametric modelling

Thanks to the use of parameterisation at the level of geometry and structural systems, IgentBIM allows you to create steel structures in an extremely fast and flexible manner. By changing individual parameters – e.g. storey height, number of spans, length of beams – the user can automatically transform and recalculate the entire model. It is an ideal solution for conceptual design, optimisation of variants and modelling of typical industrial, hall and engineering structures.

Solids, contours, masses – build without limits

Models created in IgentBIM are based on so-called masses – intelligent solids that can be combined, cut and positioned relative to each other. Each solid has its own geometric properties (shape, height, roof slope) and interaction capabilities with others – e.g. cutting holes or inserting recesses. This makes it possible to create very complex structural systems without tedious manual modelling.

Structural lines – your construction grid

In IgentBIM, the user can define the internal and external contours of a solid and add structural lines – intelligent routes on the basis of which beams, columns, walls or trusses are generated. Parameterisation allows you to control the number of elements, their spacing, cross-sections, directions and reference points. The beam layout can be defined automatically (e.g. ‘every 6 m’) or fully manually. Changing the number of axes or spacing automatically updates the geometry.

Automatic variant creation

Designing in IgentBIM does not end with a single model – you can create design variants with different parameters: floor heights, number of columns, beam spacing, roof type or type of connections. Each variant can be analysed in terms of weight, volume, building area, material consumption and costs. This feature is particularly useful when consulting with investors, in tenders and during the economic optimisation phase of the project.

Integration with BIM systems and data export

Export to IFC – full compatibility with BIMvision, Revit, ArchiCAD, Tekla, Allplan

The plugin allows you to export models in the open IFC standard, so you can easily load them into BIM software such as BIMvision, Revit, ArchiCAD, Tekla Structures, Allplan, DDS-CAD, and many others. IgentBIM automatically generates geometric and structural data – you can also assign element classes, their roles in the structure, and materials.

Direct opening of IFC in BIMvision and multidirectional model analysis

The plugin allows you to quickly open results in BIMvision. An IFC model opened in the viewer can be analysed in multiple ways, both in the free BIMvision viewer and using additional plugins.

After opening the model in BIMvision, you can, for example, display additional data.

You can also easily use the measurement options or cutting planes – cross-sections.

Plugins allow you to compile information about elements, save characteristic views from the model, check for collisions between models, create comments on changes, separate parts of elements from the model, or add user properties. Thanks to BIMvision’s advanced features, you can also estimate your carbon footprint, for example.

The use of plugins allows for quick preliminary quantitative estimates, while the possibility of visualisation and 3D representation enables precise communication based on the model.

The ability to create views with hiding, colouring elements and saving camera settings allows for efficient presentation of the concept model of the object from different perspectives, as well as the preparation of views that focus on the most important elements to be shown or discussed during the consultation of assumptions.

Export to RTD – analyses in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis

Built-in export to RTD allows data to be transferred to Robot Structural Analysis with a complete representation of the analytical model – bar layout, cross-sections and boundary conditions. This allows the designer to immediately proceed to static calculations and structural elements dimensioning.

DXF/OBJ export – for visualisation, CAD and games

If further geometry development is required, e.g. for presentations, architectural visualisations or integration with game engines (Unity, Unreal), the user can export models to DXF or OBJ formats.

Who can benefit from IgentBIM?

Engineers and constructors

Acceleration of the conceptual design process, the ability to quickly create variants and export them for static analysis.

Prefabrication companies

Modelling of typical prefabricated systems, with full control over the layout of components and easy adaptation to production requirements.

Architects and urban planners

Preliminary modelling of the structural grid, visualisation of the column and beam layout, integration with the architectural model.

Universities and students

A modern, practical tool for teaching the principles of structural modelling and BIM, compliant with current industry standards.

What does working with IgentBIM look like?

  1. You create solids (masses) – you define their type, shape, dimensions and position.
  2. You specify the structural parameters – number of axes, cross-sections, spacing, elements to be generated.
  3. You can see the model live – every change is immediately visible in the 3D preview.
  4. You experiment with different variants – you compare weight, cost, rigidity.
  5. You export your design to IFC, RTD, DXF or OBJ, ready for further use.

30 days of full functionality – completely free of charge

See for yourself how IgentBIM can change the way you design. We offer a 30-day demo version that gives you full access to all features – with the only limitation being export, restricted to 100 elements. It’s the perfect opportunity to test IgentBIM in a real design environment.
